Kevin Hart Means Business With Launch of New Comedy Network “Laugh Out Loud”
One word that sums up Kevin Hart’s Hustle – OWNERSHIP. His estimated net worth is $30 million dollars. He’s the CEO of 5 separate companies, continues to smash the box office and travels the world promoting his own sneaker with Nike. His latest venture however is the Laugh Out Loud Network, a streaming service similar to NETFLIX.
Inspired by mentor and friend Jay Z and the launch of Tidal, a music subscription service, Hart is following suit with Laugh Out Loud. His new network will offer comedians an opportunity to not only showcase but own a percentage of their work. All too often in the movie business, comedians who are featured in specials do not own their content. Kevin suggests his deal through Hartbeat Digital and Lionsgate will allow comedians to sell their produced projects elsewhere and reap the full benefits of their work. Already, he plans on filming approximately 52 comedy specials this summer. He says of his partnership with Lions gate:
“Lionsgate has always been a great partner of mine, and I’m more than excited to take our business and creative relationship to new levels….I understand the direction in which the television business is headed, and I see this big new space toward which audiences are starting to gravitate. I believe that launching this venture together now puts us ahead of the pack.”
What makes his leadership particularly royal is his commitment to open doors for his brothers. He talks at length about how he intentionally introduces those he employs into major business opportunities (See Breakfast Club Interview About 19 minutes in)
Serious about his brand, the 36 year old Philadelphia native has combined funny with his love for fitness, inking a major collaboration with Nike – a first for any comedian. The Hustle Hart Cross Trainer features 23 light-reflective, inspirational quotes like “Health Is Wealth,” “Operation Be Great Together Is In Session” and “Don’t Stop Grinding,” all selected and hand-written by the comedian/actor. He’s inspiring thousands to #MoveWithHart and join him in his quest for healthy living.
“I am a guy who is in control of his business.”
